What is a Research Guide?

Answer

A Research Guide is a helpful website created by library staff to assist with research, teaching, and learning at Defiance College. These websites connect library services with information resources and course content in a way that is easy to navigate and understand.

If you are a student, you'll appreciate the way Research Guides quickly and easily link you directly to recommended resources for your major or course. They're great for getting you started on all those papers and projects, like offering suggestions on which database to use to find journal articles in a particular field.  They are available on or off-campus, without a log-in. And they provide additional research assistance, such as the chat box to talk with a librarian.  Be sure to take advantage!

If you are a faculty member, consider having a Course Guide created for your class!  As an online resource, it can host or link to just about anything and it's easy to tailor to specific needs.  These are just a few of the features which helps make them relevant and useful to all types of learners. This kind of integration creates amazing opportunities for collaboration and enhanced learning.

To access them, click on the "Research Guides" tab on the Library's main page.
