How can I access material in the archives?

Answer

Over 4300 digitized items from the archives are available online at: memory.defiance.edu

The library does not yet have an online finder’s guide to the non-digitized, paper format materials in the archives.  In the meantime, you may contact Barb Sedlock (419.783.2487 or bsedlock@defiance.edu) to ask whether the archives contains the material you need.  Brief descriptions are available on the archives page.

To use our paper-based archives materials:  When you come into the library, tell the circulation desk student workers what you are looking for.  They will contact a librarian, who can go into the archives storage area and retrieve the items you request.  You will have to use them at a table within sight of a staff member.  Please do not bring food or drink when you are going to use original paper materials from the archives, as most items are nearly impossible to replace if damaged.
